Chicken Gravy recipe I have learnt from my sister, she have not entered kitchen still her marriage but now within 5 years she learned many recipes. She used to clear my doubts in some of the dishes. My dad will say Chicken Gravy prepared by her has a special taste. So I followed the same steps of her to this Chicken Gravy and my dad told it the same copy of her.. :-)
This type of Chicken Gravy goes well with Plain Rice, Chapati and Biryani.
Chicken : 1/2 KG
Coconut Milk : 1/8 Cup
Coconut : 1/4 Cup. (chopped or graded. I used graded)
Ginger Garlic Paste : 1 tbsp
Ginger : 10 - 15 small pieces
Garlic : 10 - 15 pieces
Small Onion : 1 Cup (just peel the skin)
Tomato : 1 Medium sized (Finely Chopped without seeds)
Green Chill : 2 no's
Curry Leaves : Few
Chicken Masala : 7 - 10 tbsp
Garam Masala : 1 tbsp
Turmeric Powder : 1/2 tbsp
Mustard Seeds : 1 tsp
Salt : As per taste
Water : As required
Method:
1.First we will start with coconut milk extraction. Take the (graded) coconut in mixer jar with little quantity of water (1/8 cup approximately) and grind it.
2.Place tea duster over a cup and pour this extraction in it and gently press over it, you will get the coconut milk.As shown in the figure.

Method:

3. For Ginger Garlic Paste: Cut ginger and garlic into small piece and put in the mixer jar and grind it.
4. Keep the Ingredients ready.
5. In a pan heat oil and add mustard seeds let it splutter then add skin peeled small onion fry still raw smell leaves and colour changer after that add green chill, Curry Leaves and Ginger Garlic Paste. After the raw smell leaves add chopped tomato.
6. Once the raw smell of tomato leaves add the cleaned chicken and mix it.
7. Keep cooking so that the chicken colour will change sightly at this stage add Chicken Masala Powder, Turmeric Powder, Garam Masala Powder and salt. Add little water (1/8 cup approximately) and cook still the spices adds to chicken.
8. After masala mix with chicken add required amount of water, give a stir and close with the lid.
8. Let the chicken cooks and water absorbs (ie: quantity of water will be reduced). Take few drops of curry and taste it according your taste add coconut milk, mix well and close with the lid.
9. Let it be in medium flame for 3 min once stats boiling turn off the flame and transfer to the serving bowl.
Chicken Gravy is ready to eat now.
Serve hot with rice and enjoy the taste of Chicken Gravy.
Notes :
Don't pour more water in coconut milk extraction.
For Ginger Garlic paste both should used same quantity. You can even add turmeric powder for a favor.
After adding coconut milk the spice level will be lowered so check taste before adding. If you want more spicy then add Chicken Masala more and leave to boil for 3 min in medium flame.
In step 7 stir continuously to avoid charring.
Use only small onion don't use big onion.
